Lime Crime and Naimies Pro Discounts

If you haven’t allready seen my extensive list of Pro Discounts, please go the sidebar and click the discounts category.  I have two more Pro Discounts to add to the list!

I have yet to put either into use but I thought I would share them with you considering they are pretty easy to get and I know they will come in handy in the next few weeks!

The first one which I am sure many of you all ready have is

Disclaimer** Lime crime has cancelled the pro discount read more about it here : https://misvie.wordpress.com/2012/01/02/lime-crime-cancels-pro-discount/

LIME CRIME :

I have linked you directly to their pro page.  Lime Crimes discount is one of the easier ones to get, all you need is your name, email, and website/online portfolio.  You must also include a message, I just talked about the kind of work I did, where I had been published etc.

The Lime Crime discount gives you 35% off discount to any/all working makeup artists, for all their products that you order off their website.  Pretty darn good considering their products are pretty nicely priced anyway!  I can’t wait to get my hands on some of their creamy opaque lipsticks, and magic dusts.

The other discount which I am even more excited about is

NAIMIE’S BEAUTY CENTER

Naimie’s Beauty Center is a store located in California, which carries various top quality brands of makeup such as MUFE, Nars, Ben Nye, Cover FX, Temptu etc.  Luckily for me and well everyone else who lives outside of Cali, they have an online store and you can call their store and place orders which they will then ship to you. The discounts are pretty amazing, as you can get pretty much anything you need.  For some of the products like the MUFE, and Nars you have to call the store to place your orders!

For this discount you must Provide a copy of your picture ID and at least three of the following: business card, tear sheet or editorial page with name credit, agency information, call sheet with your name listed as the hairstylist or makeup artist, a website that promotes your work, state license, and portfolio.

Which once again isn’t terribly hard, I did business card, tear sheet, and website.

Here is the discount breakdown!

Eco Tools

Yesterday I made a quick detour into london drugs to buy a camera so I could photograph swatches and take photos in my classes, that actually picked up the makeup and wasn’t super blurry.

While on my quick detour.. I made a quick detour into the makeup section of the store.  If you know me or have been reading you should know by now I am obsessed with make up. I live breathe and don’t do much else then buy, test, and research makeup. So of course unable to wait for my new brushes I ordered from E.L.F I bought some Eco Tools brushes.

I had never used eco tools before let alone a synthetic brush, and I really didn’t think they would be too great. However, I heard some good things about the brushes and they were about 5 bucks each (Woo!), so I picked up the foundation brush and the angled eyeliner brush.

Bamboo Angled Eyeliner Brush:

The website said:

• Ultra-flat, precisely angled bristles create a clean line around eyelashes
• Soft, cruelty-free bristles
• Natural & recycled materials

This earth-friendly angled eyeliner creates the perfect line to define eyes. And, it shows respect for the planet:
• Bamboo handle has a low impact on the earth’s resources as it is a highly sustainable plant.
• Synthetic taklon bristles are 100% cruelty free.
• Sleek ferrule is made from recycled aluminum.

HOW TO USE:
• For precise lining, keep the brush’s longer bristles toward the inside corner of the eye.
• Softly line eyes close to lash line with eyeliner.

I Say: I can’t believe how soft this brush is for a synthetic brush! It lines extremely well and is way way way easier to clean then my animal hair brushes. I wish it was a bit stiffer but it still works really well.  I tested it with my aqua creams and it looked great though I had to dip a few times to get the product on the brush.  I really like the handles, and the look of the brush and the bamboo, it’s almost kitschy in a good way.

Bamboo Foundation Brush:

The website said:

• Applies cream or liquid foundation for an even finish and a flawless look
• Soft, cruelty-free bristles • Natural & recycled materials

This earth-friendly foundation brush helps you achieve a flawless finish with cream or liquid foundation. And, it shows respect for the planet:
• Bamboo handle has a low impact on the earth’s resources as it is a highly sustainable plant.
• Synthetic taklon bristles are 100% cruelty free.
• Sleek ferrule is made from recycled aluminum.

HOW TO USE:
• Choose a foundation that is the same shade as your skin tone.
• Use the brush tip to apply foundation.
• Use the flat, fanned portion of the brush to blend upward and outward.

I say:  This brush is my latest dream come true! It’s not as soft as my other foundation brushes but, I tested it with cream and liquid foundation and I’m so in love.  This brush has zero streaking, is a bit poofier then my other foundation brushes, but that has to be a good thing.  My foundation looks almost airbrushed with this brush! When I washed it there was no shedding, no dye came out of it, it cleaned very easily and dried quicker then my other foundation brushes.

It takes care of my beauty needs and my eco conscience and my wallet! I’m sold.

Half Price! Half Price! Half Price!

E.L.F

Have you guys heard about Eyes.Lips.Face?

I’ve been researching this company for about a week reading tons of reviews and scouring the website constantly.  It’s a make up company that claims to be quite high quality for extremely low prices (1$ per product!)

“We at e.l.f. believe that innovative technology, quality ingredients and superb delivery systems should not be limited to prestige retailers. Every woman should have the opportunity to participate in innovation, without sacrificing her budget.”

Okay, I’ll bite!  Next week I’m going to be placing a rather large order of e.l.f products including eyeliners, brushes, primers, plumpers and shadows.

You will be the first to know what I think.

Review to come!
