Yesterday I was doing some lip tar swatches on my lips for you guys because I had gotten a few new colors and had never done proper on lip swatches. My idea for this post quickly changed when I finished the last swatch, sat around for a bit and then spent 15 minutes trying to scrub the hot pink color anime off my lips.
I was extremely unsuccessful to say the least.
This forced me to pose the question, how long is too long for a long lasting lip stick. I know lip tars really are pure pigment, and I know not all of them last this long and they really are an all around fantastic product.
However, I know I have used this color before in photo shoots, and recently reading a models blog I worked with, noticed she mentioned that the color I used on her lips, didn’t come off for a WEEK!
I don’t know about regular people, but when you are a signed working model as well as a law school student having hot pink lips for a week can be one heck of a problem.
Needless to say, my lips are still stained hot pink. The color is still pretty bright on my lips. I have scrubbed my lips until they were raw, with vaseline, makeup remover, and olive oil. I have eaten dinner, eaten a truly fantastic mango melona bar for desert, and had a nice long sleep.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to curtail this stained pink madness? I use the clear liptar under other liptars which should help but clearly doesn’t, if you use chapstick underneath the liptars just slide around all over the place. What else can you do? If I find out, I will let you know…..
